A Vacant Interlude.

Monotonous sounds of
Mechanical living of you.
Waking everyday to get
Lost in crowds of
Similitude.

Armed In expensive suits.
Rolex watches timing
Tick-tocks of shiny boots.
Ignorant faces ready to
Spew meaningless
Platitudes.

Motivated by riches,
Numbed by servitude.
Life of checklists,
Medicating creeping unease
Of overwhelming
Lassitude.

Moments of happiness
Left Unwitnessed to be
Exchanged for overtime dues
With days lived like clockwork
Where Night's a vacant
Interlude.
