I wish in your letters of friendly wishes
you’d hide secret messages…
Dissolve your love in pen’s ink
to write a note in heart’s speech,
that in plain sight would appear
innocuous to inquisitive eyes,
but under the flame of my love,
would render your intent explicit.

What an absolutely lovely concept. This is delightfully creative. Love it. 🙂

Thank you, Cubby! I had not begun with this ending in mind but it organically morphed into the idea of invisible ink that we, as kids, used to make with lemon or onion juice and hold it under the flame of a candle to read each others secret messages. 🙂 Glad you liked it!

I love the phrase “organically morphed” too. Those can make for some of the most creative poems. 🙂

I don’t know how your comment ended up in spam, but I just saw this and another one of your comments and they both needed to be approved which is weird. Anyway, I’m thankful for your support and encouragement. It feels great to write about something that resonates with another soul and it’s especially awesome when that other soul happens to be an amazing poet! So thank you for all your feedback, Judy! I appreciate it. 🙂

You’re welcome and thank you for your compliment 🙂. I resonate with what you write also. I think comments get sometimes hidden, wordpress gets glitchy at times.
