I have no new poems to post today. So here’s an artwork that had been in progress for a couple of weeks now and I finally found the time today to add the finishing touches.
This one’s called: Crossing Borders For A Better Madhouse
Immigration issues around the world and specifically, the orange man in the White House and his ceaseless racist tirade against people of color led to the creation of this piece.
Shit you not, I’m just one more cup of caffeine away from running around, covering my ears and yelling la-la-la-la if anyone tries to tell me the latest news headline. π
Anyway, I hope you are well, Reader. I hope you’re coping with negative news cycles better than I am.

I love that you had nothing to post when you had everything to post. I’ve never heard the “Orange man in the White House” before, but I think its catchy! Is it a current American phrase ? If not it should be ππ p.s. like your painting too. π€

“Orange man in the White House” is the staple of all late night talk shows and I think I first heard it on Colbert’s late show or maybe the daily show. But I have heard it countless times over the past two years. I don’t think it’s just an American phrase anymore. I have heard it used in German to specifically make fun of the American president. Media has a way of reaching to the most remote corners if the world so I think it’s more of a “how the world sees the leader of the most powerful country” kind of a thing. π Thank you for liking my work π€β€οΈ

oic π guess that tells you about the TV situation around here NOT! You could have coined that phrase I’m sure! I’d take off my rose coloured glasses and look but my eyes are tired of looking and as Harry P. said “Him I’ve heard of..” π Here’s another like πππ

Cool painting, I like how dimensional it looks.

Thank you so much! I was trying to study depth through multilayered shading but I am not that good at it. Still, I like how it turned out. π

I like painting too, (self-taught), but Iβm not good with colors or creating abstracts :), I wish I had more discipline to paint. Iβm impressed with your work!

I love to paint but I don’t know if I can even claim the self-taught label for myself because I never did it while being conscious of some learning curve. Maybe in school I used to. But now it’s like I regurgitate my emotions into my abstracts. π Now there’s a lovely image for you! π
Thank you for your kind, encouraging words! π€β€οΈ

Youβre welcomeπ. I think it takes a unique skill to express emotions through abstract art. I tend to draw and paint in a semi-realistic way but because Iβm not formally trained, the proportions are slightly off, π but I like the irregular, imperfect effect. I love the relaxed but focused way I feel when Iβm painting. Youβre inspiring me to start painting again, I wish I wasnβt a procrastinator!
