Faces We Wear – By yours truly.
Don’t disturb still waters
thinking you could dip a toe,
Flicking it’s serenity,
making waves, only to let it go

Don’t go around poking a Devil's heart,
Believing yourself to be invincible
It’s an abyss of possessive pull,
happy to rip you apart

Don’t call your demure charm
some great lesson in love.
Covered in ashes of incorrigible lies,
it always had a deceiver's walk

Don’t tell me how cruelly
you’ve been wronged, misunderstood.
Always the foul snake, you were
but I bit the apple, pretending to not know

All done just to have some fun,
at the expense of a player in guise,
So you got your hunt,
While I screamed my joy.

  1. Wow I love that piece of ART! The colours and movement. The attitude. Wonderfully enhancing your write. “it always had a deceiver’s walk” some clever lines there! 😊❤🌼

    1. Oh, thank you, Jen. ❤ It’s an old piece. I revisited it and did it over again. I like its trippy, psychedelic look. The poem had been knocking about in my head for some time now. Got the time to let it out today. 😋
